My Wonderful Winter Wedding In Cyprus

I have just come back from the most amazing month of my life. My husband is English Cypriot and just got married in Nicosia in Cyprus as that is where his family are all from. Our reception was held in Sitio Upper which was just divine. Catercom http://www.catercom.com.cy/index.php?id=25 are the ones who arrange it all. It was such an amazing event and totally different to what you would expect from a wedding in Cyprus. We went for a total winter theme, my colours were red, black and white and I wore a white, fake fur stole to add to the feel. We had gluvine and mince pies seeing as it was so close to Christmas which is definately something you dont get very often. The weather was sunny on most days which was quite funny but we did have some rain too. I also would like to recommend Christina Savvouri Photography http://christinasavvouri.com/. Her picures were phenomenal.
Let me know if you need any advice for weddings in Cyprus.

Re: My Wonderful Winter Wedding In Cyprus

Hi Gio
Thanks for your message and wishes.
Thank goodness we didn't have thousands of guests like a typical Cypriot wedding. Only one hundred of our closest friends and family which is why we were able to go for Upper Sitio. Catercom does different types of menus and I think we pretty much went for the most expensive which was about 25 Euros per head but totally worth it! I saved loads on flowers with it being a winter theme as we just bought poinsettia plants from a local florist and sprinkled loads of silver glitter on them. I think my bouquet was about one hundred euros and probably the priciest item for what it was. I also did my own makeup and my best friend is a hair dresser so she sorted that out. With Christina Savvouri photography I went for a simple album priced at 450Euros although now we have some extra cash I'm probably going to order extra stuff as I really want all the pictures.
So all in all our wedding probably set us back around 5,000 Euros including flights, my dress, and all the bits and bobs we bought as thank you gifts. Not bad I think considering how much we would have spent in the UK.
Are you looking to have a big wedding yourself?
