Re: Cyprus Brides

Hi
I got married in Cyprus last year and it was an amazing experience. I am from South America so it was really important for me to have the sun and the beach for my wedding and as my husband and I live in London, we didn't have to travel as far as that to have that.
My advice to you would be to check, check and double check what you are getting for your money as Cyprus is alot more laid back to certain things just like back in my home so I'm used to that! Get everything in writing and listen to recommendations. I got lots of recommendations from Cypriot friends in the UK rather than checking the web and this came out to be much cheaper and better quality than what most brides are being offered by mainly British suppliers on the net. I didnt get a wedding planner but checked out and made lots of calls myself and we had an amazing time. We had a church ceremony at Saint Nicholas Church in Limassol and then a wonderful reception at the Londa Hotel which is an absolutely gorgeous little boutique hotel. I didnt want to go for a massive impersonal kind of hotel and this was just perfect. For my wedding photography we had Christina Savvouri Photography who was just brilliant. I looked at lots of photographers and they all looked the same to me. Our pictures are really really beautiful. After the wedding reception we all went to Breeze Club which is an outdoor club mostly locals but it addedd to the whole feeling of a Cypriotw edding. It really was the best day of my life. I hope you have the same

Re: Cyprus Brides

Firstly, congratulations! Cyprus is beautiful, an amazing choice for a wedding.
I cant give specific advice because I don't service that area, but as a planner I would say simply break down each area of the event and check out what the vendors say. The vendor shouldn't have any problem with giving decent advice (such as the officiant could help let you know if you need any permits etc for your chosen location). Nor should vendors have any issues providing references and proof of liability insurance. Don't be afriad to go multiple vendors for each service, ask to see examples of their work. Nothing like that should be too much trouble for a reliable vendor to come up with.
A lot depends on how familiar you are with the country, its laws etc. A planner could make the process easier for you depending on the amount of time you have, how familiar you are with the area \ culture \ laws and language.
I hope everything goes brilliantly and if there are any questions you feel i might be able to answer then please feel free to ask.

Re: Cyprus Brides

I got married in Cyprus 7 years ago in Paphos Town hall. There are a lot of other lovely venues as well to choose from. You have Peyia, Geroskipou (beautiful for pics). We stayed in a lovely set of villas with our family and friends, Illiadas villas, it was fantastic. We had our reception in Coral Bay and then my hubby and I spenf 3 nights in The Coral beach hotel (expensive, but worth it for a few days away from the rest of the wedding party)

We even got our wedding rings when we were there, Aphrodite Jewellers, how apt! We chose them, we were measured for them and picked them up 2 days before the wedding.

To be honest I did no forward planning, I booked my hair stylist when I came over, the restaurant we had our reception in gave us our wedding cake as a gift which was a lovely gesture.

Cyprus is the type of venue that it doesn't matter if you've forgotten anything, you can get it all there!

I hope you have a wonderful wedding!

I covered a wedding in Paphos and the bride and groom were told the wedding would be in the Town Hall. When they got there they were transfered to Peyia Town Hall. It was an open air area and it was next to a housing estate and there were dogs barking all the way through the ceremony. It is not a Town Hall so be careful!

Cyprus is a most wonderful place to get married but do your homework first when it comes to where you will get married.

Also, you can get married in the evening. Daytime temperatures are very high and you will be uncomfortable in your attire. Please take this into account.

Cyprus has the nicest people you will meet so go for it
